About Us

Wanex Electrical Services was established by Bruce Wanex in 1987 and was incorporated in 1993. Originally working out of his residence, he eventually built the current Headquarters in New Castle, DE in 1998. Wanex Electrical Services has been in continuous operation since its founding.

Wanex Electrical Services is a certified Veteran-Owned Small Business, as Bruce Wanex proudly served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was honorably discharged in 1983, afterwards he went to the University of Delaware on the GI Bill. He currently holds Master Electricians licenses in DE, MD, NJ, PA, and VA. He is one of the fifty-six inaugural NABCEP Certified PV installers in the world, maintaining the certification since November 2003.

Wanex Electrical Services promotes Safety First as our #1 priority. There is no greater task at this company than to be safe — not only to work safely, but to look out for the safety of those around you. Everyone gets to go home at the end of their shift.

The company participates in the State of Delaware Apprenticeship Program along with other training programs. All new employees are required to go through a 2-day safety training program before going to work at a jobsite. We pay all costs of the four-year program and support apprentices throughout the process. We sponsor the Delaware Technical High School programs and the Delaware Skills Center program.

With over 30 years in the Commercial/Industrial business and nearly 20 years in the Green Energy field, we maintain our motto of "Installing Tomorrow's Technologies Today" by adapting to new industries, materials, and techniques.

Wanex Electrical Services proudly donates to charities including Meals on Wheels, Police Athletic League, and New Castle Jaycees. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, we sent multiple crews to support "Operation Blessing" — doing emergency electrical work for those unable to pay, sleeping on cots in a church for weeks in a tremendous opportunity to help those in need.
